"Angela taught Mac to sign 'more' when he was about 1. That one word was extremely helpful at
mealtime and bedtime ('more books'). He has added several signs and they alleviate frustration for him
and for us."
Scott Montgomery

Moishe definitely uses signs to let me know when he's hungry or thirsty. He has signed "milk" since
before we started your class. But he now also signs "daddy", "more" (for both food and more) and does a
shrug and flip of his hands when he is questioning something or wondering about something. He watches
me when I sign other words to him, and often asks me to read the 4 sign books we received from your
class. I feel signing is a big help. We look forward to starting our class next month.

I'm not sure if Juliet really gets it yet. She will, I am certain. My son used sign language to communicate to
me and his caregivers. He taught his whole daycare class how to sign for please, thank you, more and all
done. It was hilarious to watch all the 1 year olds sitting around the table signing! I am a firm believer!!

I think Audrey has just reached the point where she will be able to make signs.  She has just learned to
clap, and is very interested in imitating hand movements.  She is imitating "more" to me now at times
while eating, though she is also "clapping" so much, I am not sure I can distinguish between the two.

Overall I have really enjoyed participating in the Tot Talk Playgroup, and believe Audrey has as well.  She
enjoys the interactions with other children her age, she loves the music, and she has been introduced to
many wonderful toys.  At home we use, on a daily basis, the books and CD provided with the class.  The
books are among her favorite and we play the CD at meal times.

Our daughter (almost 2 years) went to the library with our nanny and she chose the sign language books. I
thought that was so amazing.

One morning while I was feeding our son, our daughter went and got her sign language books that we
received from the class and started doing the signs in the book all by herself.  She really gets it.

She has learned so much. She uses signs for everything. Her OT asked where she learned the signs and I
told her we were taking your private classes. She told us that was wonderful because she could really tell
a difference in Kristen.

Baby Sign Language
Baby Sign Language Class

Tot Talk  Sign Language Playgroup was created to help children and parents communicate before the
child can actually speak. Our group signs  familiar books and songs directly related to weekly themes to
enhance the learning of the new language. The themes include, but are not limited to, family, getting
dressed, food, animals, colors, movement, feelings and play. Learn 100+ signs that your baby encounters
daily.

Beebo the Baby Sign Bear (a puppet) dances and signs with the children. At the end of the group time the
children play together with toys, also related to the theme, while the parents review the new signs that we
have learned with their children. We also enjoy signing field trips.

Each family receives  a packet which contains: sign language board books, a quick reference card, and
other learning materials at the end of each class. Classes are held in six (6) weekly sessions.
